GO, Japan’s No.1 taxi app, available in 45 prefectures nationwide, has previously provided services for international visitors by integrating with widely-used mobility apps from various countries, including South Korea’s Kakao T, Southeast Asia’s Grab, and China’s Alipay and Ctrip. Through these integrations, users have been able to hail GO-affiliated taxis while using these familiar apps within Japan. Since this collaboration began in 2022, it has been used by more than 130,000 people. In particular, among South Korean visitors—Japan’s largest inbound segment—around 60% of those who take taxis use the integrated Kakao T and GO service.

Now, GO has launched support for user registration with overseas mobile phone numbers. The app also supports English-language display and registration of international credit cards. This means inbound travelers can download the GO app from app stores, register a credit card, and access all available features in Japan—not only hailing taxis instantly, but also placing orders with preferences such as AI-based reservations or selecting vehicles with sliding doors. Users can also pay for street-hailed rides using “GO Pay.”

Furthermore, if a user’s device language is set to a language other than Japanese, name confirmation when meeting the driver is automatically replaced by a ride code, allowing both passengers and drivers to connect smoothly—even if they do not share a common language.
